The Seneca Centre for Development of Open Technology (CDOT) is proud to present the 10 annual FSOSS October 27-29th, 2011. at the Seneca@York Campus, Toronto. This year we are joined by Toronto Linuxfest. Mark FSOSS/Linuxfest 2011 in your calendar. Please note the following schedule: Thursday is workshops, Friday is presentations, Saturday morning is presentations, and Saturday afternoon is an unconference/birds of a feather.

The annual Free Software and Open Source Symposium provides a venue to share the latest trends in open source. It is an event aimed at bringing together industry, developers, educators and the community and any other interested parties to discuss open source, open web, and academic/industry partnerships.

This year's three day event will offer presentations, workshops and a half day un-conference allowing you an opportunity to collaborate with your peers and learn from your mentors. Join the wave of the future and see how open source software is used in classrooms, labs and industry! Presentation proposals are now being accepted.

This year, an exhibition hall is being set up for sponsors and community groups. If you have computer equipment you no longer have use for, it can be dropped of in the exhibition area.
Free Geek Toronto teaches volunteers about computers, salvage and test re-usable parts, and rebuild computers. Open Source Software is loaded onto refurbished computers and then sold cheaply or granted to individuals and organizations who cannot afford new computers. The remaining e-waste is disposed of through the Ontario Electronic Stewardship program.

Presentation submissions are now closed. Schedule of workshops and presentations is now posted.
