FreeNAS, a BSD-licensed storage solution based on FreeBSD, was recently redesigned from the ground up to meet the diverse needs of storage users, from the home user who wants to store music, pictures, and videos to the enterprise user that requires storage reliability and integration with a wide range of operating system clients.

This presentation will:

- introduce the features provided by FreeNAS 8 as well as the roadmap of upcoming features
- provide some common configuration scenarios
- provide resources for additional information,
- discuss how one can become involved with the FreeNAS open source community
