October 26-27th, 2006 - 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
York University Campus, Toronto
The Symposium is a two-day event aimed at bringing together educators,
developers and other interested parties to discuss common free software and open
source issues, learn new technologies and to promote the use of free and open source software.
At Seneca College, we think free and open source software are real alternatives.
Oct 19th: We've hit capacity, so registration is now
closed. We are, however, allowing a limited number of walk-ins
on a first-come first-served basis for the symposium on Friday.
Please go to the registration desk after 9 am if you wish to find
out if there are spaces available. The registration desk will be
located at the south end of the SEQ building.
There are a few spaces left in "Eclipse Plugin Development" and "Building
an OSCAR cluster". If you are interested in either of these workshops on
Thursday, Oct 26th, please email robert.boyczuk@senecac.on.ca about
the availability of seats.
Recordings of the 2006 presentations are now available! The recordings
are .avi files and require divx. We will also be converting the recordings
and posting them in other formats, including
mpeg, in the next few days. The link to the presentations is http://cs.senecac.on.ca/fsoss/2006/recordings/.
We also have pics: http://cs.senecac.on.ca/fsoss/2006/pics/. Enjoy!
Symposium note: There was a small glitch with the "burn-o-matic".
If you burned a disk and found that you didn't get what you expected,
please contact chris.tyler@senecac.on.ca for
a replacement.
